Today I am posting 2 posts because the first of these is a shameless plug (although not directly beneficial to me, so it that still a plug?) for a new internet radio-type site that a friend of mine hooked me up with.
What am I talking about? Pandora an off-shoot of the Music Genome Project. To learn more about the site you really have to check it out for yourself. For your first "station" you put in an artist name or a song title and about every 5th song is either from that artist (or something like that), the songs in between are recommendations based on that artists/songs genre, time signature, characteristics from that song/artist.
Again, you really have to check it out. At least listen for 3-4 songs before you knock it. I think it's a good way to get lesser-known bands known and get everyone to find more music that they like based on their previous tastes.
