A male version of flowers

Yes, you read right - a male version of flowers.

What consistutes as "flowers" for men? What will give them the same reaction? Well, that's what I was thinking about today while in the car on the way to the fated birthday event (which went very well by the way, and is actually still going on. I sent them to go get a movie while I stayed behind helping my fiance with his links HTML coding).

So, when I get flowers from my fiance, I get all excited and happy and it draws an instant smile. It makes me feel special, like I just got a present. Yes, they die in a couple of days, maybe a few weeks if I'm lucky. Yes, colors fade, flowers die, but the thought was still there and they look beautiful for the time being. They make me feel like a woman who has a someone pinning after her, someone who thinks they are special.

What kind of gift can illicit the same response from a man? What might he get that will tickle him pink (or blue, if that's his fav. color) and make him feel special?

This is the kind of question I asked in the car ride. To which I received a very blanket, "I don't know" response.

"What do you mean you don't know?"
"I just don't know. It's different for different guys I guess." Well duh. I would have never thought of that one.
"Well, what kind of a gift makes you smile instantly? Didn't you like when I gave that to you?"
"Well, yeah, but I don't think it's the same kind of thing."

There we go, a typical answer. I'm getting no where with this. But with this experience, we might find out more about what kind of gifts to get people and what things to avoid.

What do you like to receive? What was the worst gift you ever got? Any particularly interesting gift stories?

- V.

Automatic smiles: guns, tools, and books. Books are the only one in the flower price range. But they have to be the right books. And not all guys appreciate them.
