Today is my fiance's sister's birthday.
If I didn't feel weird enough about my own birthday that just passed (for those of you who missed it, a nice "Happy Birthday" in the comments section would help) on June 3rd, I had my fiance's bday 10 days later and in less than a month, his sister's.
I feel especially bad because I, well we, didn't really get her a "present" for her bday.
What do you get a 20 yr. old for her bday? The same age old question applies to just about anyone - what do you get people for their birthdays?
I always like to receive money, contact me if you'd like to send me some, but it lacks a personable-ness of an actual present. If I got a stuffed animal and someone gave me a nice story that went along with it about how they thought about me when they bought it, etc. or something not quiet as freaky but endearing; I'd like it. Regardless of the fact that I don't really play with stuffed animals.
It's nice when people put thought into your gift, isn't it?
Gift certificates or gift cards are ok, but can often go unused and become worthless within a couple of months. Or for those people like my fiance, who stumble upon them EONS afterwards, they become something you don't ever keep in your wallet because you don't know how to put things away...
So what to get her for her birthday? A card and money. She's 20, she doesn't have a job, she could probably use the cash.
