Word(s) of the Day 1

In preparation for the Graduate Record Examination, and for academic life in general, I thought I'd start building my vocabulary more.

I think I have an average vocabulary, you would never tell by reading my blogs that I actually speak better than I write, so I thought I'd add some quasi-literary variety to the mix.

So I'll start blogging about the Word of the Day from Dictionary.com and/or other sources. I may even add some miscellaneous words from the actual dictionary, or other lists of words I've come across in my random web surfings.

This also gives my fellow future academic friends a reason to come back to my blog daily, to catch the word of the day in its full glory.

Today's Word of the Day:
garrulous from the Latin garrullus, from garrire, "to chatter, to babble."
adjective: (1) Talking much, especially about commonplace or trivial things; talkative. (2) Wordy.
Synonyms: Talkative, loquacious, chatty.

Comment about the formatting. If people really like this, maybe I can make some sort of sidebar entry about it or something. ;)
