Food...

While I haven't reached this point yet, I am running low on script (school cafeteria cash) and it's getting down to the wire.

I graduate in less than 2 weeks and I will be going to my fiance's apartment this weekend so I will have some way to get some food before then. I also have an ok amount of money in my bank account, but since a lot of my friends are broke they do not want to go to Burger King (nearest McDonald's was demolished *shock* because they are renovating it) or Wendy's or any other of the million restaurants down the block.

The math department had a little party today and they had very good food there. I was glad to be able to go, especially since they had awards for all of us who are graduating. A good time was had by all and that was very nice. I had Top Ramen last night, because my friend did not want to walk down the street to get some food and it had been a while since I had Top Ramen. I wonder sometimes if my eating habits will indeed change when I graduate. Especially since I will be making a lot more money than I am making right now.

I am kind of scared about that, money that is. A lot of people say that things change a lot when you graduate, but since my fiance and I will have finances together I do not know how much things will change, if at all. We both want to pay off our loans, at least as much as possible because we both have a tremendous amount of loans and it would be kind of scary for something to happen to either one of us that would make it such that we couldn't work anymore. I want to have some sort of a nest egg, which (for us) may mean living humbly for a few more years. But will finances change so much such that we will be living off of Top Ramen for months at a time? Or will we be able to afford some regular food (vegetables, beef and/or chicken from the store to stir-fry or grill or something)?

What do you think?
