Awesome News

I got the TAship.

It feels really good just to type it, let alone to say it aloud. My professors did not doubt that I would get the TAship, but I doubted a little. I did not know how many slots they had available, etc., and how that might affect my application. Now I just have to do a ton of paperwork and submit it to HR before I go crazy. I will probably finish the paperwork sometime during the summer (finals for me is this week, graduation = May 13th, dad flying in = May 12th).

I just wish I knew which classes they were going to give me. I have this fear that they will give me the... business math classes. Why am I a little afraid? I might over-analyze the problems and/or not be able to read ahead of my students enough to keep on top of things. But oh well, I won't know until I am in the classroom and working with my students whether or not everything will work out (which it probably will afterall).

My professors have not posted the books they will be using and, relatively soon, I will be e-mailing them asking if they already have a book or a coursepack in mind that they will be using. I am really excited about my Knots and Surfaces (Low-Dimensional Topology) course. The other courses are exciting too, I finally do not have to take any more history and psychology (big whoo hoo!!!). Those subjects are... interesting... sometimes. Ugh, ok I get bored really easy because I hate memorizing vocabulary, names, dates, and places. All math from here on out, it's like heaven.

In other news: I have 3 papers and about 3 finals to take by, approximately, Sunday night in order to finish up the rest of the semester. Do not expect me to get online until probably next Tuesday, although since I have been managing my time (a little bit) better than maybe I will get online and blog a bit before then. Cross your fingers and wish me luck.

Congratulations! By the way, don't be scared of business math courses -- they are not bad at all. I teach business math, by the way, so feel free to ask if you have any questions.
