In worrying about my flash drive (which I still cannot find, but I found an ok recent copy of my CV and have updated it) and application (still not finished) I neglected to say:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
New Years always makes people think about new beginnings, or at least it makes me think that way. New beginnings and starting over, for me particularly when it comes to organization. So, I bring you some tips from the Get Organized Now! Newsletter/Website that I often go to:
Quick Tip: Complete One Organizing Project!
Start your year off feeling productive by choosing just one organizing project, whether it is balancing your checkbook, organizing a junk drawer or weeding out your filing cabinet. Then, set aside time in January to complete that project. Choose one night each week or one afternoon each weekend to work on it until it's completely done.
You'll feel a sense of accomplishment, and you'll be ready to take on another organizing challenge in February.
The Quick Tip, and anything else you get off of their site, is only up for one week. So if you want to know about anything else they are saying for this week, you'd better get surfing!
Something interesting I read in this week's newsletter:
Top 10 Most Common New Year Resolutions
1. Shed some weight
2. Stop smoking
3. Stick to a budget
4. Save or earn more
5. Find a better job
6. Become more organized
7. Exercise more
8. Be more patient at work with others
9. Eat better
10. Become a better person

That's kind of interesting, isn't it? Most of those resolutions (expect #2) fit me, or at least sound like things I would say on the fly if someone asked me what my New Years Resolutions were. What are your New Years Resolutions? I'm still trying to be realistic with myself, so I don't know if I really have any actually. Getting organized is something I've been working on for a while now and I'd like to continue with that (that sounds a resolution doesn't it?). I also want to keep track of my spending and get out of debt (credit card debt) before the wedding (another resolution, what do you know?). Losing weight would be nice, for fitness reasons - but it's probably not my top priority. I think I have become comfortable with how I look, but whenever I look at wedding dresses I get into a slump about my size.
Either way, I think this year will bring a lot of new challenges for me, working harder to make ends meet while trying to keep my grades up and hopefully my first semester as a graduate student. Let's cross our fingers about those graduate school applications, okay?

Happy New Year!!! In addition to # 1 on your list, I'm resolving to cut out caustic people from my presence. And yes, I've crossed fingers and toes on your behalf. :-)
