Blogger Survey

I promised I put up another post today to start moving other recent posts down the main page, so here it is: some posting for today.

I filled out the Blogger survey that's available on your dashboard, for those of you who have blogger blogs. I gave it to them, I'd really like to see Categories and Calendars. Those are the two functions missing from blogger, really people we need to focus!

I found a calendar hack, but then they wanted me to change some options from my settings and I already have my archives a certain way because of the recent comments hack I used. So I found another hack, but it doesn't seem as useful because it doesn't do previous months (without replacing more code, which is a pain).

So I'm stuck without a calendar. Really I already have a picture in my mind of what I want the calendar to look like, or what I really want it to do, but I'm not CSS/Javascript saavy enough to do it, at least not by myself making it up and all.

I realize that if Blogger published a Calendar hack then they'd have to also figure it out for each of their settings styles. I could see it:

Calendar for those who archive monthly (go here), weekly (go here), daily (go here)...

Or some variation of that.

So if anyone happens to be uber nice and wants to send me some code, please do so. Help would be grealy appreciated.

Speaking of code, helpful things and surveys: I've been trying to take my own survey of what's useful around the site and what's not? How do you like the sidebar features? I'd really like some more stuff, but am considering getting rid of a few things (or at least trying to make some stuff collapse). How do you like the recent comments section? I like it because I couldn't figure out where particular people were commenting on the site (then I figured out that when I get the e-mail I can click the link on the bottom and it won't take me to the main page). But I've found it useful on other sites, so I thought I'd add it in.

Comments, greatly appreciated. See you laters, I've got some book trauma going on right now, will post later about it.

I like the recent posts thingy. It makes it easy to see where people are talking.
