Wedding Woes... Again

Last night we went to dinner with my F's parents, an aunt, uncle and one of their children.

We had Mexican food, which is usually fine with me when they choose a restaurant that knows what Mexican is...

My father was born in Mexico and made my mom cook real Mexican food for the greater part of their marriage. I know what I like and what I don't like.

I have found that this particular restaurant that they swear is great, is not. No, not all of Texas has amazing Mexican food.

Mind you, the more south you go, the better and more authentic it is, most of the time. You'll find your sleazy Mexican food restaurants in places that border Mexico too.

While we're eating and I'm trying to stomach the Fajitas for two dinner we ordered (really it was Onions with Fajitas in them, not the other way around). They, super cool aunt and uncle (did I mention that this particular pair is my favorite aunt/uncle pair of relatives he has?), ask about whether or not we've set a date, etc.

All the questions they ask, we would have had answers to but no they want to answer for us. So I'm forced to sit there, listen and chew while they lambast us for making sure the guest list stays below 250.

"No, not everyone is going to come," they say.

"What if they do, and they bring more people than you thought they would," I'm thinking but trying really, really hard to supress my words and get upset.

This has really gone too far. I had a nightmare about my wedding and not allowing everyone to enter into the building because they messed up their numbers*.

Oh woe is me.

* Another thing I'd like to add is how they made me cut my list down while keeping thier numbers up because they think less of my people, my side of the guest list, is coming because I'm from California. They did not bother to look at my side of the guest list and see that most of the people I'm inviting are from my school and not from my family.
