The Things People Search for...

I just found out through SiteMeter that I was the second site listed on a search for "Loser Mathematicians".... ouch.

One of my inner-reflective posts received this "honor"... in other SiteMeter related news, the amount of hits I'm getting is up, I'm very happy about that.

I'm not actually sure whether it's related to my posts, mostly through reference whereas the last time I received a report there were a lot of people that visited that it couldn't tell which URL led them here (which makes me believe that they either have a bookmark or typed in the URL directly.

So, tell all your friends to visit my site so I'm not pegged as a loser mathematician. Yeah...

In other news, Mobius Stripper is the funniest math geek on the web. Read her blog and enjoy.

Yes, I realized that even when I was typing.

BUT, google also ranks pages by how often they are referenced on other pages. So, if other people have linked to that particular page, it's going to make it higher on the list.

If a lot of people bookmarked my blog as the "best blog ever" then when you searched for the "best blog ever" it would make it really high on the list.

If you search for mathematicians (plural) instead of mathematician, you won't find me though.

Well, the good news is that I wasn't the only site with that phrase or those words.
