I can't understand for the life of me, why people have to think they are right.
It's an inate belief that people have, they have to be right in order for the universe to have peace or something.
Do people really believe that things are always "different in your case" or that "you just don't understand"?
There are instances in which either of these excuses can work, but it surely isn't the case for this situation in which we are talking about a universal process for doing something in which I know that it wasn't different.
Just for the record, this was an argument about calculating GPA and how a 4.0 was a straight A average and a 3.0 is a B average. No no no, I must be wrong, she says, she had a 3.2 something or other and that was an A minus average and therefore a 3.0 must be an A minus average too because the numbers are so close together.
That's it, I'm stupid.
Tell me I'm stupid.

In no school that I know of is 3.2 an A-. It is not even a B+. At my school B+ was 3.5, an A- was 3.75.
