Well, tomorrow we're supposed to have a small LAN party with my fiance, myself and his best friend. Not a big party, but nonetheless - the apartment has to be clean.
I haven't mentioned it on the site yet, I don't think, but I subscribe to a Get Organized Now! newsletter. I received my copy yesterday, or today (can't remember) and behold, there is a new blog on the site. I'm uber-excited about this new blog because now I have something to read every day about organization.
The boards on the site are pretty cool, but if you're looking for general information instead of more specific things, browsing the site might be a little more helpful.
A corresponding blog discussed the idea that younger parents are not teaching their children about organization, in their daily activities and such, which creates a more disorganized society. Well, that's a little stretch from what is written in that post, but more along the lines of my take on what they said.
I, while cleaning today for that LAN party, find myself thinking about those times when I've tried to tell my fiance about cleaning the apartment. I tried to make it a group effort, but alas, he does not take all of my suggestions very well.
We're in a money crunch, but will hopefully be getting out soon. I find myself trying desperately to not have to go to campus to validate my paperwork and sign up for another class. If I do that, it will take a round-trip bus ticket to get me there and back and an entire day of hassle, but I will be able to beat my next week wednesday validation deadline, which is the most positive thing.
I will be able to see my friends for a day, which will be great and hopefully relieve stress, and feel most productive, which will make me happy. The more I think about it, the more worth it it seems (to go to school for a day that is).
So I think I'm going to do it later this week, so if I have to do anything extra I'll be able to have some time to do it.
I know I have to have my advisor sign some paperwork, but that can be taken care of within the week - right? (He's in town, not far away, that I know of).

I think organization is a lot like other skills, something you can learn with time and effort.
Last year, some of my friends pulled a Style-Network show on me. They helped me go through my space to make it amazing.
I learned a lot of things while they were helping me, like which kinds of things I really really didn't need.
Sometimes I like to put a deadline on myself to help get my stuff together, otherwise I'll never do it. Unfortunately, I usually have so many things on my plate that organization comes last on the list.
That will hopefully change this upcoming year. ;).
