Why not having a car sucks...

Did you know the job market is most favorable for anyone with a vehicle? I mean, it's totally obvious when you think about it.

Car = Job

If you have a car, you have "reliable transportation" as opposed to those individuals who take the bus and cannot rely on the bus schedule because buses are inherently LATE all the time.

Well, not all the time - but they are late sometimes, which reflects on you and your inability to get a car.

People just don't understand how fortunate they are to have their own transportation.

I don't have a license, which amazingly enough makes it almost impossible to get a car, let alone find one to take and pass a driver's test in.

My friends and family members all think they are being supportive, by driving me around and telling me that they will give me driving lessons. Actions speak louder than words people, and only two people have actually made me get behind the wheel of a car for one lesson each.

Why doesn't anyone follow through? I really think my quest for a job would go faster if I had a car to drive around and pick up applications instead of trying to look for them online. I could also say, "yeah, I can make it to work tomorrow" if I had a way to get there by myself.

I feel like a cripple. Do you have anyone in your family like me? Car-less and jobless?

Comments, anybody...

The city I live in right now is not particularly bike-friendly, although some may argue with me.

I have about a month left here and then I move back to school and a better place. I'll have my old job back, that I didn't want but the math department isn't hiring afterall, and I'll have a steady income.

Some employers though are assholes and won't take me because I don't have a car (reliable transportation a must, etc.) but who wants those jobs anyways.
