Lots of news since the last post (in April) so I'll try to be brief for now and then post something longer later. I know I always say that, but with how things are going school-wise right now I can only be honest to myself by making that disclaimer.

• Biggest news (for the loyal readers I suppose) is that I am now divorced. Well, effectively divorced. Only the Final Decree of Divorce is left to be filed, 60 days have already passed since I filed the Petition for Divorce - so... yeah. Sometimes things just don't work out. That is my new mantra.
• I am working on my thesis. Although not making as much progress as I'd like. Super good news is that I am typing it out using LaTeX, so I'm learning some new skills :).
• I think I am not going to apply for Ph.D. programs for this upcoming cycle. I would like to slow things down for a bit, get a regular job maybe even as adjunct faculty to somewhere kind of around the Bay Area in CA. Go back home for a bit, spend time with family, that kind of thing.
• I have a 2nd job working on a textbook, that looks promising for future endeavors. We'll see how all of that goes in the time to come.
• I started running. Although I have slacked off in recent weeks, mostly because I thought I was getting shin splints, I will be picking it back up after a test I have tomorrow. Then I will get back into the groove of feeling super healthy again.
• Now that I am living alone I am back in the groove of cooking for myself, for the most part. I have slacked just a little bit and have been eating out with friends, but I am sure that will come to pass.
• I also sat down and made a budget :S. Sometimes it is scary to see what the actual numbers are, but in order to know if I have enough money to do x,y,z things I have to know if those funds are available and if I can still pay rent next month if I spend. So in a lot of ways, that is very good.

So...yeah. I think that is all the update I can give for now. My plan of action, in terms of getting a job, will likely be explained in the next post. I really want to get back to writing in my blog because (a) it was so relaxing and (b) it gave me a good way to relieve stress and I have a *ton* of that.

I also think I need to study more hardcore than I have ever studied for this upcoming exam, mostly because I have not been working on knowing the theorems and proofs they way I really should. But I have most of today to work on that. I also want to scoot over some results to my thesis advisor, but all in due time I suppose.
