whoa!

Talk about ripping off copywritten names...

Does anyone else think this is wrong?

You're probably thinking of ripping off trademarks, not copyrights. Copyrights protect expression (books, blog posts, articles, photographs, software code), trademarks protect trade names. I would think that both Google and Yahoo might have a trademark infringement case against them, if they wanted to pursue it. It wouldn't surprise me if they quietly change the site name after receiving one or more cease-and-desist letters.

Incidentally, the product idea isn't new. There have been metasearches around for a long time. I remember using one (before Google) that aggregated results from Yahoo, Altavista, Infoseek, and a few other engines.

Altavista used to be so good. I haven't tried it in ages though...
