I have tons of things to do and no time to do them, so what am I doing? Blogging. I am sitting in a computer lab, the algebra lab I am sort of the TA for is in here and will be out in 6 minutes, then I have about 20 minutes before my next class and only 10 minutes in between that class and the next one before I have to go take a test for my online class. *breath* If any sentence in the universe was a run-on, I think that would be it.
But I did want to mention that I am trying to catch up with my 100 Things About Me in 100 Days, so if you see a few of those come up like weeds in a field of grass, then please pardon the tardiness. I had to give my new "attendance makes your grade" talk to some of the students in my lab. Effectively I told them that they should work on the material outside of class but that does not excuse them for not showing up to class. I am about 100% positive what my first lecture to my beginning mathematics classes will be in the fall, if I get the TAship, something to the effect of "Study Skills that will get you a passing grade in my class" or maybe not so harsh, like "Math Study Skills" or something like that. I will not pretend to be the authority on the subject, but I think I know enough to say doing homework helps and that you should not cram before an exam, etc.
Do you ever give a lecture like that or maybe even a handout? I don't want to have to repeat it a million times over during the semester, although I believe that no matter whether or not I give the lecture I will have to repeat it a million times over. But I was just wondering what everyone else did.
Have to go, wish me luck on my test.
