But alas, besides research, stressing out, planning the wedding, stressing out, applying for graduate schools, stressing out, and getting ready for the General GRE (and did I say stressing out?) I'm not up to much.
Good news on some fronts, here are some updates:
- [Update] Losing weight doesn't come easy to me, but according to what a scale told me yesterday, it looks like I've lost 3 lbs. I did make another pledge to keep trying... and I've been trying to walk in the evenings, but I'm not as consistent as I could be. I also have been eating McDonald's way too much, but I don't have a fridge, so I also don't feel so bad.
- [Update] I've been meeting up with a friend to study for the GRE General. I'm taking it on October 20th. Come to think of it, I need to mail in the stuff for the GRE Math Subject also. I've had it ready for ages, but that doesn't mean ETS has it. So while I'm worried about that, because my verbal sucks, I can't really control how everything will pan out that day, at least not yet. So I'm not worried at the same time.
- [Update] I did not try on dresses a while back like I originally intended to and had to change my plans due to unforseen circumstances (I told my bridesmaids kind of late about it... but it's ok, I wasn't worried about that). So I'll be trying things on soon, like next Sunday, right after I get back from MD.
- [Update] I'm going to Maryland! One of my top choices for graduate school is the University of Maryland - College Park, and I'm going on a visitation for this upcoming Friday. I'm psyched. I hope to e-mail some people from the Math Department about my interest in possibly meeting them too. I also really hope we go enjoy D.C. nightlife on Friday.
- [Update] My finances are getting under control. I want to make an impression when I go to Maryland and while I still don't know what to wear for the nightlife, we went shopping for some professional-type wear yesterday and I found some great deals at JCPenney. They had some Buy One Get One $1 deal. I got 2 shirts and a pair of pants, I wasn't even looking for pants because I have a lot of really nice pants, for around $50 total. At other stores I would normally shop at it would cost me $50 for one item. I am so glad I'm making more sensible purchases now.
- [Update] Spammers, or what I think are spammers, have attacked parts of my blog. I turned on comment verification. Tell me if it gets annoying.
But those are all the most recent updates for right now.
The title of this post was in reference to the idea of how can you tell if spam is spam. I am not sure about some of these most recent comments, some of which are already deleted, and some of which I'm still debating as to whether or not I believe it's really spam. I think that if someone puts something up saying, "Hey I like your blog, here's mine it's about debt consolidation" or what not, they are probably made up of bits and bytes instead of blood and vessels and it's spam. But some of them are quasi-related to my posts and I'm not sure whether or not I'd be into keeping them up or pulling them down. So, I leave it to my readership, what's left of it anyways, to help me in the decision-making process.
So go forth and comment! - V.

I think the spambots have a way to search for related terms to make it look like it's a real person commenting. They're getting better at it all the time.
