... ok, I'm not really in Cambodia, but I might as well be in terms of posting. It's not like I've been posting regularly anyways, but now I just have a reason.
Forget the beginning of the semester, that's always bad news for those activities that bring me some sort of relaxation/joy. But I'm visiting my mom for the weekend because we're going to a party. We were invited to a party and she invited me and although I had to forgo visiting with my Fiance for this, I haven't visited my mom (at her place of residence) for over a year, probably over a year and a half. My mom visits me and stuff and we hang out, like cool mothers and daughters do, so that's good. But I don't always have forever-worth of time to visit with her.
School takes over (and work, and organizations, meetings and a gazillion other things). So I can't always talk on the phone, I can't always e-mail her, I can't always be there.
Sometimes it makes me feel like a bad kid, and then I think about other situations and other instances that I did very wonderful things that don't make me a bad daughter, and it all works out fine.
My mom is very understanding in terms of my time, and actually tonight (I was supposed to get here later) she's going on a blind date. I'm very excited for her and hope the experience won't make her not want to go on blind dates ever again. There can be much said for blind dates, but I won't go into personal details just yet. Let's wait until the weekend is over.
So, for all those that read my blog, or all those just browsing, have a Nice Labor Day weekend, be nice and donate through the Red Cross, or some other nice organization, for those devasted in Louisiana (another blogger, can't remember who, said it best when they said, "send nice thoughts to them").
As one of my favorite actors, Jim Carrey, once said (in a movie, which was scripted, so this wasn't his own genius), "Good afternoon, Good evening and Good night!"
