Delays

I'm going to catch up on a few promised posts today, while filling papers and filling out my FAFSA.

During the long weekend, one of the most eventful things that happened was actually the delay of my fiance's cousin, let's call him C for short.

It doesn't matter what his name is, but C is quite a character. Maybe "quite a character" is the wrong way to type about him, particularly because when someone says another person is like that you might begin to think they are wild and dance to their own beat. He's not really like that. He's a really nice guy, very intelligent, nice looking, gentle but rough. He's a body builder, has 2 degrees from a prestigeous university, Architecture and Engineering.

He's got that kind of "perfect guy" feel to him. Yeah, it would annoy me too sometimes.

His last gf cheated on him, so yeah - he's single. The males in this family are into fishing and farming, so he's got that farmers boy appeal to him. Which is also why he was in wrestling and football and lifts weights, so he's buff and intelligent. Good sense of humor too.

He's a good guy to have around, fun to play games with (as I found out while we were all playing volleyball with a beach ball in the pool the day he finally did arrive), and he likes to build things and is very patient, thus he also builds sand castles with my fiance's sister (who is a pain in the rear, to say the least) and knows how to have a good time and lay back.

That is why everyone was sad to hear that his flight got cancelled. Apparently, this really small airport believed that passenger safety wasn't enough to cancel a flight, it was LACK of passengers. There was a pretty bad storm over the area the airport was supposed to land, so I assumed that the airline wouldn't cancel a flight unless there was bad weather.

They cancelled the first and second flight going to his destination, yet all other flights for that day were full. What is a passenger supposed to do?

He waited for the third flight, to see if anyone got off and there would be room for him. He was number 3 on the waiting list afterall. But no one got off and he spent half a day at the airport waiting for a flight.

In despair, he went home and waited until the next day. No cloudy beach for C. We, instead of enjoying fun in the sun on the beach, spent most of our time looking at weather reports because it kept on pouring down rain. At least he was in a dry climate the entire time.

On Thursday, it was just us 5, my fiance and myself, his parents and his sister.

On Friday, the same 5 plus his aunt and uncle and 2 cousins.

On Saturday, the same 9 plus another cousin and the last cousin was supposed to arrive but then this flight fiasco happened.

On Sunday, we were all in the family with a total of 11 people, but that was the day almost everyone was supposed to leave too.

So he got a total 2 day vacation of fishing, which I guess was nice for him.
