So, as my "current undertakings" sidebar says, I'm working to get out of debt.
Before summer started, before my finals actually, I interviewed over the phone for a job. I was very excited about this new prospect and was so eager to start the first day.
Long story short, I quit after a few days. It really wasn't for me and I knew I wouldn't make it the whole summer.
I hate jobs based on commission and although I wasn't really happy with taking it in the first place, I took it anyways and regretted every minute of the first few days.
So now I'm unemployeed, which has never happened to me before. I've almost always had a job to complain about and whatever.
The job I normally have, during the term, I also quit. My main boss lady is a big meanie who doesn't deserve the hyped-up salary she gets and she sucks. She takes other student complaints over her tutors' words. I've worked there for about 3 years and she goes and gives this other dude a $10/hr. job when she has repeatedly said she can't change the fact that I get paid $5.50 an hour. She lies.
The other guy isn't more qualified than I am either, he's not even a good tutor. But would she know that? No. She doesn't pay attention to any of this.
So while I consider moving over to the math department to become a math dept. work-study who cleans transparencies, makes copies and grades papers - this GUY takes my freakin' job!
So I'm out of a job. I'm not just considering moving over to the math department, I'm going to do it. It's about time I moved over. I told them I'd do it a long time ago, last year in fact, and I stayed because of my immediate supervisor.
My immediate supervisor is the bomb. She's a great lady that always listens to my problems, but since I'm not on campus this summer - I had to start a blog. I think it's relaxing in a way.
But until 2 months from now, when I start my first day in the math department, I'm jobless. Unemployeed AKA - broke. I have almost no money, and the money I do have I have to use to pay bills. Lots of them. I guess it could be worse. I'm going to apply for a job as a lab assistant at a local university, I'm about an hour away from my university, where I could have been a lab assistant for the summer but that's a longer story.
I also don't have a car, hence why I always feel like I should take what I can get when it comes to offers for things - jobs, food, internships, etc.
So if anyone knows of anything that can help me make a lot of money in a little bit of time, or of the winning lottery numbers for a couple million dollars, please tell me - I'd like to know. Just don't post it in the comments section for everyone to see, it'll be our little secret ;).
G'night.
- V.
P.S. Hopefully, cross your fingers, I'll be applying to 2 jobs tomorrow (when I wake up in about 7-9 hrs., I sleep a lot...)
